Overview
Charlie is an experienced family law practitioner with a busy practice in all areas of family law. Before becoming a barrister Charlie trained and practiced as a solicitor in the family law team at Farrer & Co, one of London’s leading family law firms.
Practice Areas
Charlie has wide experience of financial remedy applications and has worked with clients with asset values ranging from modest amounts into the billions. He has particular expertise in cases involving complex asset structures including private businesses, family trusts and offshore assets and is experienced in cases upholding or attacking prenuptial agreements. Charlie has been instructed on a number of enforcement cases and recently acted in a case in the High Court which led to the recovery for the client of over £1m. He has also had wide exposure to TLATA cases relating to the division of property between unmarried parties.
Charlie regularly acts in private law proceedings concerning children. He has wide experience at all stages of the court process, from initial hearings to contested final hearings and fact-finding hearings, and has worked on cases involving allegations of parental alienation, domestic violence, rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, emotional abuse and applications to locate children. He has been involved in a number of cases involving mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
Charlie regularly appears in complex multi-day public children matters representing local authorities, parents, children and extended family members, including grandparents. He has had exposure to cases involving allegations of the highest levels of physical and emotional abuse up to and including the death of a child.
Charlie has extensive experience of proceedings relating to domestic violence and applications for injunctions and occupation orders.

Charlie represented a Romanian mother with an intellectual disability, taking instructions from the Official Solicitor, in a High Court case that saw Mrs Justice Knowles issue guidance in cases where a parent has a learning disability.
