Judicial Appointment
We are delighted to announce that Kerry Cockayne has today been appointed as a District Judge and will be sitting in Wolverhampton and Dudley from 18th November 2024.
All at St. Mary’s offer our warmest congratulations to Kerry on her appointment and wish her the very best with this next stage of her career.
Kerry completed her pupillage at St. Mary’s in 2004 and has heavily contributed to all aspects of Chambers life during her time with us, including sitting on the Management Committee, contributing to our conferences and publishing numerous helpful articles. Kerry was appointed as a Deputy District Judge in 2020 and will serve as a stellar addition to the Judiciary on a full-time basis.
Commenting on Kerry’s appointment, Joint Head of Chambers Claire Howell said: “This is wonderful news for Kerry and her family, and is richly deserved. I have no doubt that Kerry will take with her to the Bench the tenacity, dedication and compassion that she has always shown at the Bar. We will all miss her at St Mary’s; she has been a friend to all and a close friend to many. I personally am gratefully to Kerry for making me feel at home since I joined Chambers 5 years ago, and for the support she has shown me as Joint Head of Chambers.”
